European investment spending and Covid-19

Ana-Roxana Popescu, lead budgets analyst for Europe, will be discussing how changes in the environment security and in the support given to the defence industry over the past decade allow for cautious optimism when it comes to European investment spending going forward. Nonetheless, caution should prevail as the experience of the 2008 financial crisis suggests that the full effects of the crisis on defence spending are likely to be felt further down the line.
