Until recently, the People's Liberation Army Navy was following a defensive and self-protection Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) doctrine, focused mainly on littoral ASW operations. China's ongoing naval modernisation effort, supporting the transition from Green water to Blue water Navy, involves new ASW systems, platforms, weapons, and tactics. In this intelligence briefing, we will be presenting and evaluating the PLA Navy's current ASW capabilities and future plans.
