Covid-19: RT LTA Systems reduces SkyStar 180 aerostat system price during pandemic

RT LTA Systems has said it is reducing the price of its SkyStar 180 aerostat system by 20–25% for a limited time during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company is marketing its SkyStar 180 as a more cost-effective surveillance method to secure borders from illegal crossing and watch over strategic facilities. Rami Shmueli, company CEO, said in a 4 May statement that governments around the world during the Covid-19 crisis want to make sure that their borders are protected and that no one is wandering around in places they should not be.

Looking beyond the pandemic, Shmueli believes that countries around the world, especially in Europe, will see masses of immigrants trying to enter. He said RT’s SkyStar family of aerostats allows protection of large open areas such as borders at a minimal cost of USD20 per day.

Two people are necessary to deploy the system. RT said it recently started a new assembly line, which enables a faster and efficient production process.

RT spokesperson Kim Laronne on 5 May declined to provide the new price of the SkyStar 180 system as it varies according to the specific payload that each customer chooses. RT has already sold numerous SkyStar 180 systems, which are operational in different countries, she said.
