The Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) is a US Army project, designed to deliver a new small arms system to the US close-quarter combatants. NGSW is centered around a new rifle (NGSW-R), light machine gun (NGSW-AR), a fire-control system (NGSW-FC), and a common 6.8 mm cartridge.
