The Italian Ministry of Defence (MoD) published its Documento Programmatico Pluriennale (Multiyear Planning Document, DPP) 2021–2023 on 5 August, which lays out plans to spend EUR24.58 billion (USD29 billion) or 1.41% of GDP on defence in 2021, EUR25.16 billion or 1.37% of GDP in 2022, and EUR23.49 billion or 1.23% of GDP in 2023.

Chinese defence company Poly Technologies showcased the A2000, a new next-generation combat unmanned surface vessel (USV), at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2024 exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur from 6 to 9 May.
The A2000 attack USV has a length of 45 m, a displacement of 280 tonnes, and a top speed of 35 kt. It features twin diesel engines and two controllable pitch propellers.

Turkish company Aselsan has unveiled its latest radio relay system at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2024 exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur from 6 to 9 May.
The system, known as URAL, is an airborne software-defined radio relay operating in the very/ultra-high frequency (V/UHF) band.
URAL is designed for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other airborne platforms for surveillance, reconnaissance, and mapping applications.
It utilises Aselsan's advanced network waveform features to achieve the high throughput data rate.

Malaysian firm Malvus Sense unveiled the CW-25H, a new hydrogen-electric-powered vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft system (UAS), in collaboration with Chinese UAS firm JOUAV at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2024 exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur from 6 to 9 May.
Powered by hydrogen-electric hybrid technology, the CW-25H has a flight time of up to 330 minutes.
