Senop has received a large order from the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command for the provision of its night-vision goggles (NVGs), laser sights, and target acquisition devices.

The contract comprises the ‘Senop EVA 40 NVG' image intensifier, ‘Lilly' compact thermal imager observation and target acquisition device, as well as the ‘Luke Soldier's' and ‘Luke Tactical' laser sights, the company announced on 8 May.

The EUR30 million (USD33 million) contract also requires the life-cycle upgrade of the Lisa target acquisition device first delivered to Finland in 2014.

According to the announcement, deliveries of the equipment will commence this year and conclude by 2025.

The ‘Luke Soldier's' laser sight is lightweight and designed to withstand high recoils, while the tactical version is a multifunctional sight fitted with a visible and infrared (IR) laser, as well as an IR illuminator.

‘EVA 40 NVG' is a lightweight night-vision monocular that utilises aspheric glass optics to provide a high level of usability and performance. According to the company, the night-vision equipment was developed in collaboration with the Finnish Defence Forces, with close attention paid towards the performance, ergonomics, durability, and weight of the devices. The technology also underwent demanding field tests to evaluate its battlefield suitability.
