Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI’s) Drone Guard counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) is to receive a kinetic intercept capability under a collaborative partnership with Iron Drone announced on 29 June.
The Drone Guard is a ground-based range of systems for detecting, tracking, and disrupting unmanned aerial vehicles. It has now been integrated with one or more interception UAVs to physically take down the target drone. (IAI)
The collaboration will see the Drone Guard ground-based range of systems for detecting, tracking, and disrupting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) integrated with one or more interception UAVs to physically take down any target unmanned aircraft.
“The integration has been tried, proven, and demonstrated in several pilots and is now being marketed to customers,” General Manager of ELTA’s Land Systems Division, Zvi Yarom, was quoted as saying.
First revealed to Janes at ELTA’s Ashdod facility in southern Israel in late 2015, the Drone Guard is available for the short-, medium-, and longer-range detection and flight disruption of UAVs. It can be used against single threats or against multiple threats coming from different directions.
