MVRsimulation has achieved interim accreditation for joint terminal attack controller (JTAC) training for its deployable joint fires trainer (DJFT), the company announced at the 2022 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando. It has also developed a trailer-borne version of the system, which it showcased at the same event.

The DJFT, as accredited, is a portable configuration consisting of observer, role player, and instructor operator stations. The observer uses a Varjo XR-3 mixed reality head-mounted display (HMD), which uses video-passthrough and has a 115° field-of-view (FOV) and eye tracking. The system has integrated emulated or simulated JTAC equipment, like the Special Operations Forces Laser Acquisition Marker (SOFLAM) laser rangefinder, Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR), infrared zoom laser illuminator designator (IZLID) 1000P, remotely operated video enhanced receiver (ROVER) terminal, binoculars, and radios (PRC-117G and PRC-152).
