To further boost naval aviation interoperability among the Airbus H225M helicopter crews of the Brazilian Armed Forces, the Brazilian Navy is hosting helicopters of the army and air force aboard its NDM Bahia (G40) Landing Platform Dock (LPD) for the first time.

An HM-4 Jaguar helicopter of 1st Army Aviation Battalion and one H-36 Caracal helicopter of air force's Squadron Puma (designation for H225Ms of the army and air force, respectively), along with the UH-15 Super Cougar (navy's designation for the H225M) of Squadron Pegasus are carrying out landing and take-off operations, medical evacuation (medevac) missions, and airdrop and infiltration of special operations troops during the navy's ‘Poseidon 2022' exercise from 4 to 9 April off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil has developed significant efforts to increase interoperability among its H225Ms from its two major surface ships with the objective to standardise aviation operating procedures between the three services.
