Australian firm Orbital UAV has signed an agreement with what it said is "one of Singapore's largest defence companies" to collaborate on the design, development, and initial low-rate production of multifuel engines for unmanned air vehicles (UAVs). Orbital UAV confirmed to Jane's that the identity of the Singaporean company is not being disclosed.
According to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by Orbital UAV and the Singaporean firm and announced on 19 March, proposed collaboration features three phases of work, with the first two covering development and the final featuring production.
Phase one covers the development, integration, and supply of a first prototype multifuel engine, and phase two features the supply of a "small number of additional prototype engines" for further evaluation requirements by an unidentified customer.
