UK defence secretary Ben Wallace has launched a review of the country's defence and security industry sectors in a bid to demonstrate their importance in the upcoming government-wide Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development, and Foreign Policy.
In a written statement to parliament on 5th March, Wallace said that the Ministry of Defence would lead a cross government team to make the case for the UK defence and security industry. He said this team would be "engaging closely with industry, Parliament, and other stakeholders".
"Many of the UK's defence and security companies are flourishing, but suppliers from large companies to small [and] medium [sized] enterprises are also now facing a range of challenges for the future," said Wallace.
