UMS Skeldar has developed a new enhanced variant of its V-150 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the company announced on 3 March.
The vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAV, named after its 150 kg maximum take-off weight (MTOW), has received a number of performance enhancements so that it can better complement the company's larger V-200 platform.
"UMS Skeldar is launching its new enhanced V-150 VTOL platform to support tactical operations including defence forces, surveillance, blue light forces, and homeland security", the joint venture (JV) between Sweden's Saab and Switzerland's UMS Aero Group said.
The new platform has a current endurance of up to 2.5 hours with a 12 kg payload, raising to 4 hours in the near future thanks to modifications already being worked on, the statement added.
