A Russian Su-57 'Felon' aircraft crashed in the Russian Khabarovsk region on 24 December while on a test flight. According to Russia media, the aircraft was the first serial production aircraft (01 Blue) and was conducting routine factory tests near the Komsomolsk-on-Amur plant in Russia's Far East region.
The aircraft was undergoing a series of factory test flights approximately 111 km from Komsomolsk-on-Amur aerodrome, with the TASS news agency reporting that the cause of the Su-57 accident was a "failure in the aircraft control system".
The aircraft was part of the initial production batch and was flying with an NPO Saturn Izdeliye 117 (AL-41F1) engine.
