The US Army has partially fielded its Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), and senior commanders have so far reported favourably on the new system.
CPCE is one of the elements of the US Army's common operating environment (COE). Its aim is to reduce numerous command-and-control (C2) systems and hardware sets to a single, common foundation for use within formation headquarters and to provide a single common operating picture. The software is based on Systematic Inc's SitaWare Headquarters C2 software that has been modified and adapted by the army.
