AUSA 2019: US Army selects chief for new Enterprise Cloud Management Office

US Army leaders have selected a senior US government official to lead the service’s new Enterprise Cloud Management Office (ECMO), which will spearhead efforts to migrate army data applications and networks onto a cloud-computing architecture.

The new appointee for ECMO director, designated as a senior executive service-level position, is still working through the official vetting process at the Pentagon but is expected to take the reins of the new cloud-computing office shortly, Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) Lieutenant General Bruce Crawford said during a 16 October briefing at the Association of the United States Army’s annual symposium in Washington, DC.
