Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering) and German group Rheinmetall have signed an agreement to pursue opportunities to jointly develop, build, and sell defence protection systems and tracked military vehicles. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was announced on 10 September by Rheinmetall and the land systems arm of ST Engineering.
A statement said that the two companies will "collaborate to explore areas of co-operation involving complementary capabilities in design, development, production, global marketing, sales, and support of defence systems and solutions related to protection systems and combat vehicles".
It added that in the area of combat vehicles, the partnership will explore opportunities in the armoured tracked vehicle market.
