US Army leaders are moving out with plans to integrate a new electronic warfare (EW) system into ground vehicles and are aiming for a prototype contract decision in 2020.

On 11 July, the army is slated to brief industry representatives at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, about the revised acquisition approach, requirements, and strategy for the new Terrestrial Layer System (TLS), according to a recent notice posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website.

“The government is seeking Industry members capable of fulfilling the entire TLS prototype and integration requirement,” the army wrote. “The government is seeking innovative responses in RF [radio frequency] switch design, antennas, radios, etc., therefore the government is encouraging teaming and collaboration amongst industry to provide the best possible solution.”
