UK embarks Challenger 2 for first time in six years during exercise ‘Baltic Protector’

The British Army and Royal Marines have embarked a Challenger 2 main battle tank from an Estonian beach onto HMS Albion , the Royal Navy (RN) landing platform dock, as part of exercise 'Baltic Protector' held in the Baltic Sea from 24 May to 9 July, the RN announced on 5 July.

The tank from the King's Royal Hussars was taken from Valkla Rand beach in Estonia and embarked onto a landing craft utility (LCU) before being transported onto the vehicle deck of HMS Albion .

This is the first time British forces have practised this complicated task since 2011, the HMS Albion press service tweeted on 6 July.
