South Korea and the Philippines have outlined an intention to increase defence trade and collaboration between their respective defence industries.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) in Seoul said that in a joint defence committee in Manila on 11 June officials from the two countries said they would explore additional opportunities for South Korean exports to the Southeast Asian country.
Potential opportunities cited by DAPA included exports of submarines, guided weapon systems, unmanned aerial vehicles and other unmanned systems.
DAPA said the two sides had "revised the implementation of existing contracts and also agreed to expand the scope of the transactions between South Korea and the Philippines".
