The Philippines and the Czech Republic have established a joint forum to support defence trade and related industrial collaboration. The agreement to set up the ‘working subcommittee on defence industrial co-operation’ was announced by the Philippine embassy in Prague on 14 May.
The embassy said the new forum is supported by continuing discussions about potential joint defence industrial projects. These involve Czech companies establishing partnerships in the Philippines to support sales and possible local production, as well as follow-on support for maintenance and repair.
The embassy said the defence industry forum was announced at the first meeting of a joint Philippine-Czech defence committee, which met earlier in May at the Ministry of Defence in Prague.
