Pentagon detailing C-UAS options to combatant commanders

US combatant commanders continue to grapple with evolving drone threats, and senior Pentagon leaders are now working to provide them with a comprehensive list of available technologies to meet the challenge.

Earlier this year, the US Department of Defense’s undersecretary of defence for acquisition and sustainment, Ellen Lord, was tasked with leading a counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) senior integration group that includes the vice-chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During a 10 May press conference, Lord discussed the effort to work across the services and agencies to identify their respective C-UASs.

“The services and some of the agencies, rightly so, were coming up with innovative solutions for C-UAS,” she told reporters.
