Oshkosh Defense is unveiling it new Light Combat Tactical All-Terrain Vehicle (L-ATV) ambulance, with plans to market it to the US Army and US Marine Corps (USMC).
George Mansfield, the vice-president and general manager for joint programmes at Oshkosh Defense, told Jane’s that the company will use this year’s army Global Force Symposium to showcase the new L-ATV ambulance.
“There is no written requirement right now but we’re trying to gain interest, in having an extreme off-road, protected ambulance that can keep up with the combat formations, and a near-peer event,” Mansfield said.
The army and USMC are replacing some of their Humvees with the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) based on Oshkosh’s L-ATV design.
