Egypt has ordered a number of Su-35 multirole fighters, the Russian business newspaper Kommersant reported on 18 March.

The newspaper cited two senior defence officials as saying the order for "over two dozen" fighters was finalised in late 2018, with deliveries expected to begin in 2020-21. It added that the deal is estimated to be worth about USD2 billion.

The Su-35 is Russia's most advanced operational fighter. It is also in service with the Chinese air force and has been ordered by Indonesia.
