Ukraine receives Bayraktar armed UAVs from Turkey

11 March 2019

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced on 6 March the delivery of a batch of Bayraktar TB2 armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Turkey.

"Now, exercises with the new, powerful Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle will be carried out, the supplies of which I managed to agree with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. I can even say that these drones are already in the territory of Ukraine," the UAWire news agency quoted him as saying.

Poroshenko did not say how many have been received, but under a 12 January deal, Baykar Makina was to deliver six UAVs, three ground control stations, and other equipment to Ukraine in a year.
