Raytheon to maintain cyber defence for USAF Global Hawks

Raytheon will provide software upgrades to defend the ground control systems and onboard sensors used by the US Air Force (USAF) fleet of RQ-4 Global Hawk remotely piloted aircraft against cyber threats.

The contract is part of a subcontract with RQ-4 prime contractor Northrop Grumman and is focused on maintaining 10 fielded control stations deployed worldwide, Todd Probert, vice-president of Mission Support and Modernization at Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, told Jane’s .

“Technology is constantly changing, and cyber threats are continuously evolving. This contract allows us to continue the critical work of modernising and protecting these systems,” he said.
