Turkey's Aselsan has signed an agreement with the Baku-based Jihaz Production Association to jointly manufacture military communications equipment in Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Defence Industry of the Azerbaijani Republic (MODIAR) made the announcement on 14 January, adding that the agreement was signed during a visit by a delegation from MODIAR to Turkey.
The Jihaz Production Association is a subsidiary of MODIAR, and is responsible for the manufacture of equipment including infantry weapons systems, armoured vehicles and subsystems, and electronics assembly. Further details on the production agreement were not disclosed.
According to MODIAR, other Turkish companies that presented to the Azeri delegation included munitions firm Rocketsan, aircraft manufacturer Turkish Aerospace, C4I systems firm Ayesas, and armoured logistics vehicle manufacturer Cukurova.
