The Belgium Naval & Robotics consortium, a teaming between Naval Group and ECA, has launched an industrial plan to pitch for the Belgian/Dutch mine countermeasures (MCM) acquisition programme.
The consortium met with industry and research partners on 13 December to present the plan it is offering for the joint acquisition of unmanned mine-countermeasures technology that will be able to be deployed from a manned vessel.
The plan includes 39 partnerships with Belgian entities and would provide hundreds of jobs over the next 20 years.
Belgium and the Netherlands are jointly acquiring the MCM system and the frigates, with the former leading on the mine-warfare systems and the latter on the vessels.
