Lockheed Martin to provide Aegis Baseline K2 for three RoKN destroyers

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a USD365.7 million Foreign Military Sale (FMS) contract by the US Navy (USN) to provide three Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) guided-missile destroyers with the Baseline K2 version of the Aegis Combat System, the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 30 October.

"This contract will provide for combat system installation, staging, and integrated logistics support required for the installation, [and] test and delivery of the Aegis Combat System K2 baselines for three Republic of Korea Navy DDGs [guided-missiles destroyers]," said the DoD, adding that the deal includes programme management, system engineering, and computer programme development.
