HGH Infrared secures SPYNEL sale for African warship order

French electro-optics house HGH Infrared Systems has won a multimillion Euro contract from an undisclosed shipyard to supply its SPYNEL-X panoramic infrared search-and-track system for three new warships on order for an African navy.

Designed to provide wide area passive surveillance, SPYNEL-X can detect, track, and record an unlimited number of threats at a range of up to 15 km day and night, even in adverse weather conditions. The latest Visible Channel, Laser Range Finder (V-LRF) technology features a visible channel to enhance threat identification as well as a laser range finder to measure the threat range while maintaining continuous tracking.
