Lockheed Martin will deliver the ninth and final MH-60R Seahawk multirole maritime helicopter to Denmark in December.
Denmark ordered nine MH-60Rs for USD686 million under a US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) agreement in 2012 as replacements for the Royal Danish Air Force's (RDAF's) eight Lynx Mk.90B aircraft. The first three aircraft were delivered in 2016, with the first achieving initial operating capability in 2017.
The Danish MH-60Rs are being used for maritime surveillance, anti-surface warfare, force protection, and utility transport operations from a variety of Royal Danish Navy (RDN) vessels. They also provide support to austere sites in the Arctic and North Atlantic regions, patrolling territorial boundaries, fisheries, and search and rescue.
