Taliban IED attack kills parliamentary election candidate in Afghanistan's Helmand

FOUR people, including election candidate Abdul Jabar Qahraman, were killed and seven civilians were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED), emplaced underneath Qahraman's chair by suspected Taliban militants, detonated in his campaign office in Lashkargah in Afghanistan's Helmand province on 17 October, Al Jazeera and Reuters reported. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
