Suspected Katibat Uqba Ibn Nafaa IED attack kills soldier in Tunisia's Kasserine

10 October 2018

A SOLDIER was killed and five others wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED), emplaced by suspected Katibat Uqba Ibn Nafaa militants, detonated targeting soldiers on patrol in a military vehicle in the Mount Chaambi area of Tunisia's Kasserine governorate on 3 October, the Long War Journal reported. Katibat Uqba Ibn Nafaa claimed responsibility for the attack later that day, but stated that it had detonated a second IED targeting soldiers that had gathered around the damaged vehicle. This latter claim could not be independently verified.
