French robotics company ECA Group has been awarded a new contract to supply several units of its Cobra MK2 E unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to the Thai military.
The company said in an 11 September statement that it will execute the contract for the wheeled UGVs, which are to be used to counter improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) operations, in co-operation with its Thai partner Apple Scientific Co Ltd.
ECA Group stated that the 5 kg Cobra MK2 E was selected because of its performance and plug-and-play system, which “enables to equip different types of payload from detection to neutralisation, various water disruptors or integrate specific payload, upon customer request”.
