The contract that Qatar signed covering the supply of 24 Eurofighter Typhoon multirole fighters and nine Hawk advanced jet trainers has become effective, prime contractor BAE Systems reported to the London Stock Exchange on 18 September.
“The contract valued at approximately GBP5 billion [USD6.6 billion] has become effective with receipt of the first payment today,” the statement said. It added that the first Typhoons and Hawks are expected to be delivered in 2022.
