Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering) has agreed to acquire US-based aerospace company MRA Systems (MRAS) from General Electric for USD630 million, it was announced on 13 September.
MRAS produces thrust reversers, engine nacelle components, and aerostructures primarily for aerospace customers but also manufactures some components for military fixed and rotary-wing aircraft including Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.
The company – headquartered in Baltimore – specialises in composites and employs about 800 people.
ST Engineering said the acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalised by the end of the first quarter in 2019. The deal is channelled through ST Engineering’s US subsidiary, Vision Technologies Aerospace (VT Aerospace).
