The Turkish Defence Industry Directorate (SSB) signed a contract with Aselsan on 9 August for the local development of the HavaSOJ airborne stand-off jammer electronic support/electronic warfare system for the Turkish Air Force Command (TAFC). The contract covers the development and production of the system and its integration into an aircraft.
Aselsan and SSB tweeted that four HavaSOJ systems would be delivered to the TAFC by 2027, with the first system entering the service’s inventory in 2023.
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is responsible for the integration of the systems, probably into a business jet, the purchase of which Turkey is close to reaching a deal on with an unidentified company, Temel Kotil, the company’s general manager, said during the signing of the contract between Aselsan and SSB.
