Saab to upgrade RTAF’s air command-and-control system

07 August 2018

Saab has received an order from the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) to upgrade and further enhance Thailand’s national air command-and-control system (ACCS), the Sweden-based company announced in a 7 August statement.

The ACCS, which is a major part of the Southeast Asian country’s network centric air defence capability, is based on Saab’s 9AIR C4I product and has been in operation with the RTAF since 2010.

The ACCS upgrade will combine new hardware and software designed to “sustain, enhance, and expand the system’s nationwide capabilities for future operations”, said the company, adding that the work will be carried out at Saab in Järfälla, Sweden, with the contract set to run until 2020.
