IAF pilot killed in MiG-21 crash

An Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot was killed on 18 July when his MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashed in the Kangra district of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

The incident took place at around 13:20 (local time): about an hour after the aircraft had taken off from Air Force Station Pathankot, according to a statement by the Indian government’s Press Information Bureau (PIB).

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident.
