US Air Force developing online video game for tracking and ranking potential recruits

28 May 2018

The US Air Force (USAF) is developing an online video game that will track players by internet protocol (IP) address and rank them on attributes for use in recruiting, according to a key officer.

Air Education and Training Command (AETC) chief Lieutenant General Steven Kwast told reporters on 24 May that the service will be able to gain insight into players’ knowledge, attributes, and characteristics. He hopes the first iteration of the game will be available this summer.

Kwast said the USAF and its team of psychologists, sociologists, cultural anthropologists, and others can measure various attributes of players by running them through a scenario.
