Turkish state companies co-operate to increase local ammunition production

Turkey’s Machines and Chemical Industries Board (MKEK) and Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Board (TÜBİTAK) Defence Industries Research and Development Institute (SAGE) signed an agreement on 22 May on research and development (R&D) projects to increase local ammunition production.

The projects include qualification of Mk 82 bombs, rocket fuel, ammunition to protect land platforms, warhead filling, sea mines, and underwater explosives.

TÜBİTAK SAGE will share its design and technological capabilities with MKEK’s production experience and capabilites in R&D.
