Draken International has signed an agreement with South Africa’s Paramount Aerospace Systems for the overhaul and ongoing engineering support of Dassault Mirage F1M aircraft recently acquired from the Spanish Air Force.
The agreement, announced on 9 April, pertains to 22 single-seat Mirage F1M and twin-seat F1B fighter aircraft that Draken International recently acquired from the Spanish Air Force for the provision of ‘Red Air’ pilot training for the US Department of Defense and allied nation customers.
As noted by Paramount, the company will now undertake reassembly, restoration, and airworthiness certification of these aircraft at Draken’s Lakeland maintenance facility in Florida.
