Boeing invests in Australian unmanned technologies

Boeing has announced a new partnership agreement with the Australian state of Queensland to initiate what it says will be the “largest autonomous systems development programme outside of the United States”.

The US corporation said on 2 March that the three-year “rapid innovation” programme will feature collaboration between Boeing and regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop technologies in support of independently operated air and sea vehicles.

The programme, which will have an emphasis on facilitating exports, will also seek to complement the work undertaken by a recently announced Australian initiative to promote in Queensland collaboration between industry and academia in autonomous systems.
