Developing cyber capabilities will be a major feature of Thales’ new UK facility, a company spokesperson told Jane’s .
The new facility will house the company’s cyber security business in the United Kingdom, alongside its consulting business and other research facilities. It will enable the company to step up its activities in the military and civilian cyber space, both in the United Kingdom and internationally, the spokesperson said.
Alongside cyber, it will also focus on three other ‘deep technologies’ that are having a transformative impact on militaries worldwide: connectivity, Big Data, and artificial intelligence (AI). The new headquarters is the result of a GBP23 million (USD32 million) investment.
