The US government is placing increasing emphasis on winning defence deals in the Asia Pacific as part of Washington’s commitment to drive regional strategic partnerships and boost revenues for US defence companies.

The drive is also indicated by US companies’ securing the largest international presence at the Singapore Airshow 2018. According to the US Embassy in Singapore, the United States has more than 170 exhibitors at the exhibition.

At a government level, the drive is also being led by a move undertaken by regional US embassies to increase support for US companies looking to secure sales within the region.
