07 February 2018

Kazakh authorities confirmed on 5 February that the country had successfully exported an initial batch of night vision equipment to Uzbekistan in late 2017, as the two countries met to increase defence and space sector co-operation.

Kazakh authorities revealed at a meeting between the Minister of Defence and Aerospace Industry Beibut Atamkulov and Uzbekistan’s Chairman of the State Committee for Defence Industry Atabek Ibadullayev that a pilot batch was exported for testing and evaluation, with the country now set to receive further goggles from Kazakhstan.

While the specific system exported to Uzbekistan was not formally disclosed, an image accompanying a release from Kazakhstan Engineering showed the A230 night-vision bi-ocular.
