Bulgarian C-27J fleet grounded after last operational aircraft is damaged

The Bulgarian Air Force’s (BuAF’s) last operational C-27J Spartan twin-engine transport aircraft was seriously damaged on 19 January at Graf Ignatievo air base, near Plovdiv, Deputy Defence Minister Anatoli Velichkov told bTV television on 20 January.

The aircraft’s right wing and propeller contacted the ground, causing serious damage in the third such incident involving a BuAF C-27J.
