Brazil’s welcoming climate for small satellites and a prime equatorial launch location is intriguing US space companies.
The Brazilian military is actively courting companies to launch out of its Alcantara Launch Center (ALC), located in the country’s northeast region on the Atlantic Ocean, just south of the equator. A number of companies went to Brazil on an industry delegation in December. Vector Space Systems, Microcosm Inc, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing all confirmed to Jane’s their participation on the trip.
