Saab signs research agreement with Singapore university

14 December 2017

Swedish defence technologies group Saab announced on 14 December that it had signed a five-year research collaboration agreement with Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University.

The signing of the agreement follows the announcement of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in October this year.

Saab said in a statement that “two current focus areas for the research collaboration to be conducted at the Saab-NTU Joint Research Centre will be air-traffic management projects, such as investigating the possibility of employing artificial intelligence and machine learning to augment the capability of air traffic controllers, and also underwater robotic research, to enable underwater autonomous vehicles to navigate relative to its surrounding objects”.
