Terma agrees Indian technology transfer

17 November 2017

Danish company Terma has teamed with Tata Advanced Systems to transfer its surveillance radar technology to be indigenously developed for installation on Indian navy vessels.

Under the navy’s surface surveillance radar project, 31 systems will be delivered to the service, which will be Indian-manufactured versions of Terma’s Scanter 6002 solid state radar.

Terma says that this is the first procurement under the Indian government’s ‘make and buy’ category of its Defense Procurement Procedure initiative.

Tata will deliver, install, and commission the radar onto naval vessels, and will also deliver simulators, establish depot-level facilities, and provide integrated logistics support over ten years.
