Eurofighter partner companies have begun the assembly of major components of the Kuwaiti air force’s Typhoon combat aircraft, according to the vice president of Leonardo’s Eurofighter Programme Unit, Giancarlo Mezzanatto.

He revealed details of the assembly activity for the 28 Kuwait Typhoons in a media briefing released the day before the start of the Dubai airshow on 12 November.

The wings, tail, and major fuselage assemblies are being assembled at Eurofighter partner companies in the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Italy, before being brought together for final assembly at Leonardo’s Turin-Caselle Plant. Delivery of the aircraft will start in 2020 and will be completed in 2023, said Mezzanatto.
